The Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in Rivers State, Chief (Dr) Kenneth Chigozie Osunwa has expressed his determination to elevate the guild to unprecedented heights in the forthcoming year.

Speaking at a joyous Christmas party to mark the end of a successful 2023 in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Chief (Dr) Osunwa reiterated his unwavering commitment to the advancement of the AGN in the state.

With fervor and conviction, he pledged to redouble his efforts, aiming to propel the guild toward greater recognition and success in 2024.

Amidst applause and a palpable sense of anticipation, the Chairman outlined his vision for a more robust and flourishing guild, promising initiatives and strategies geared towards enhancing the stature and impact of the AGN within Rivers State and beyond.

Acknowledging the challenges encountered and triumphs achieved throughout the year, Osunwa expressed gratitude to the guild members for their unwavering support and dedication.

He emphasized the importance of unity and collective action in realizing the shared aspirations of the AGN.

 

The Chairman’s impassioned declaration has sparked optimism and enthusiasm among AGN members, who eagerly await the implementation of his visionary plans in the upcoming year.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chairman, Engr. Benedict Osiagor Nwaorehu highlighted the event as a moment of gratitude, acknowledging God’s continuous guidance and safeguarding throughout the past year.

While emphasizing the resilience of the state’s AGN in navigating numerous challenges in 2023, Nwaorehu urged fellow actors to avoid desperate choices motivated solely by financial need.

“Starting in 2024, recognize your worth in the film industry. When approached for roles, consider only those that align with favorable conditions. Let’s refrain from undervaluing our craft,” he asserted, encouraging actors not to compromise their standards.

The event also featured an inspiring talk by actor Biokpo West Joshua, who underscored the necessity of a vibrant industry, achievable only through a robust taskforce.

The Christmas party was a vibrant affair, characterized by lively dancing, dining, gift presentations, dramatic performances, and humor provided by veteran comedian Ras OAU. Notably, it was graced by the presence of the leadership of the guild from the South South region.
