The burial formalities of the late former National Chairman of Amuzi Progressives Union (APU), Dim -na-Nume Isu in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State, Mr. Ugochukwu Sylvester Dike, has been announced by the family.

A statement circulated to the media by the younger brother of the deceased, Mr. Maduabuchi Calistus Dike, said the body late ‘De Slive’, as he was fondly called, would be interred in his father’s compound in Amuzi on Friday, May 5, 2023 after a Christian wake keep on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

The statement described the late Sylvester Dike who died on January 28, 2023 after a protracted illness, as a notable leader who had served both his community and other places he lived, in various capacities.

Late Dike was Chairman of the Port Harcourt Branch of APU from 1996 to 2000. His leadership endeared him to his kinsmen back home who elected him as the National Chairman of APU in 2008.

De Slive’s impressive leadership as APU National Chairman, earned him a second tenure which took him to 2016, an eighth years of unblemished leadership, the statement stated, adding that during his life time, he also served the Landlords Association in Oyigbo, Rivers State where he was based.

Maduabuchi Calistus Dike in the statement described his late brother as a great asset, and has left a vacuum difficult to fill.

His words, “I will miss him for his brotherly and sincere advice. I will miss him for his words of wisdom and intelligence.

“I will miss him for his fear of God and diplomacy. I will miss him dearly as my close friend and mentor. He was indeed a man of integrity and I will miss him for everything”.
