Renowned singer, Johnny Blackkk (real name: John Nnamdi Wokoma Davidson) has revealed that the stage is set for the much-anticipated launch of Go Round music record label on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Speaking at the Obi Wali International Conference Center in Port Harcourt during the International Ministerial Conference of the Church of God (7th Day) on Saturday, Johnny Blackkk revealed that the label aims to spotlight budding music talents.
According to him, Go Round music label is a platform to showcase young music talents. He said the label, established by famous philanthropist and former Chairman of PDP in the state, Bro Felix Obuah, seeks to embody the philosophy of ‘Go Round,’ empowering aspiring artists and promoting their work both locally and internationally.
“The mission is to harness hidden talents in Rivers State and ensure that talented yet restless youths find exposure in the music industry,” he added, emphasizing the label’s professional management.
Despite a hiatus from music for two decades due to engagement in politics, Johnny Blackkk whose genre of music is Afro reggae, is poised to release an EP (Extended Play) during the launch of Go Round Record Label, December 14 at Desikok Royal Hotel, Abua Street, Rumuibekwe, featuring the single “Area don Red.
This song, he said, sheds light on the prevailing economic challenges faced by many Nigerians.
While promising a grand affair, Johnny Blackkk shared that the EP’s Listening Party on December 14th will be attended by his political allies, prominent figures from Ogbaland including the Executive Chairman of Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area, Hon Vincent Job, making it a significant Rivers State event.
