Thousands of vibrant youths flooded the streets of Omoku on Sunday, donning crisp white t-shirts, jeans and face caps, emblazoned with “HH Youths Fest ONELGA 2024” in bold blue letters.
The sea of white and blue was punctuated by bright yellow and green flags, as the energetic crowd danced through the town.
Their mission? To show unwavering support for Mr. Henry Chimuenya Umejuru, CEO of HH Hotels and Apartments, Omoku, an aspiring local government chairman.
With infectious enthusiasm, the youths waved to passersby, their faces painted with colorful slogans: “HH for ONELGA Chair!” and “Youth Power for Positive Change!”
The air pulsed with music and chants, as Omoku’s streets transformed into a kaleidoscope of unity and solidarity.
Umejuru, beaming with gratitude, addressed the crowd: “Your support fuels my vision for ONELGA’s progress. Together, we’ll build a brighter future!”
The youths emptied into the Krisdera Hotels Stadium, Omoku where a musical carnival would commence at 5pm.
As the wait for musical showdown begins, two traditional rulers spoke on the sidelines:
HRH Eze Gift Nwokidu, Eze Odogwo 1 of Ogbaland deckared: “I am impressed by the massive turnout of youths in support of Mr. Chimuenya Umejuru. This solidarity walk demonstrates the people’s desire for progressive leadership. As traditional rulers, we will continue to promote peace and unity in ONELGA.”
In the wors of the Eze Obigbor, Eze Victor Dibia, “Today’s event shows that our youths are eager for change. Chimuenya Umejuru’s aspiration aligns with our community’s development goals.
“We urge all stakeholders to support credible leadership and ensure peaceful elections in ONELGA.”
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Omoku’s streets still resonated with the echoes of unity and hope.
