Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has initiated a prompt redeployment of the Commissioners of Police in Rivers State, Delta State, and the Federal Capital Territory.

In a statement released on Thursday, Force Spokesman ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi explained that this strategic move aims to strengthen the police force for more effective law enforcement.

The changes involve the following appointments: CP Olatunji Disu will take over as the new Commissioner for the Federal Capital Territory, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi is now the Commissioner for Rivers State, and CP Peter Opara will serve as the new Commissioner for Delta State.

Additionally, Adejobi mentioned that, with the endorsement of the Police Service Commission, the Inspector-General has assigned four new CPs to head the Commands in Abia, Lagos, Ebonyi, and Akwa-Ibom.

The new appointments include CP Danladi Nda for Abia State, CP Olanrewaju Ishola Olawale for Lagos State, CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya for Ebonyi State, and CP Festus Eribo for Akwa-Ibom State.

These strategic appointments underline the IGP’s commitment to enhancing the effectiveness of the police force and ensuring optimal use of available human resources.

The Inspector-General has urged the newly appointed commissioners to approach their responsibilities with diligence and to implement innovative strategies to address security challenges in their jurisdictions.

He also encouraged them to embrace police reform initiatives that will contribute to the advancement of the Nigeria Police Force and the broader development of the nation.
