The Chokota Elders Council has expressed delight with the transformative era witnessed in Rivers State under the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, Spokesperson, Mr. Bartholomew Ositadinma Okere commended Governor Fubara for awarding the contract for the construction of the abandoned Rumuokwurusi-Igbo Etche Road.
He said the project, when completed, will boost economic activities, improve the well-being of the people, and showcase the governor’s commitment to infrastructure development.
In the same vein, Okere appealed to the governor to construct the Umuebule-Chokota road, which will provide a shorter connection to the Port Harcourt International Airport and help reduce traffic congestion in the city.
“This road will ease movement, reduce travel time, and enhance economic growth,” he added.
The spokesperson also praised Governor Fubara’s efforts in empowering youths, improving healthcare, and promoting education.
“The governor’s vision for Rivers State is clear, and we are confident that he will continue to deliver projects that benefit our people,” he said.
The Chokota Elders Council’s mouthpiece urged Governor Fubara to remain focused on his development agenda, assuring him of their support and cooperation.
“We are proud of his achievements and look forward to more transformative projects,” Okere concluded.
