Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the National Assembly, has raised concerns over the apparent indifference of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike towards the welfare of residents in the nation’s capital. Speaking at an event organized by activist Moses Paul in Abuja to mark the first anniversary of the 2023 presidential election, Senator Kingibe criticized Minister Wike’s governance approach, stating that he seems unconcerned about the well-being of FCT residents.

During her address, Senator Kingibe highlighted the troubling nature of Minister Wike’s attitude towards governance in the FCT. She emphasized the urgency of the situation, acknowledging the challenges faced by the nation and expressing her commitment to addressing them. Despite the obstacles posed by the minister’s indifference, Senator Kingibe assured attendees, known as “Obidients,” that solutions would be sought to improve the situation.

Acknowledging the gravity of the current national crisis, Senator Kingibe reiterated her commitment to serving the interests of FCT residents despite the challenges posed by Minister Wike’s approach to governance. She emphasized the importance of finding alternative avenues to address the welfare and security concerns of the people in the FCT. Senator Kingibe’s remarks underscore the pressing need for effective leadership and collaborative efforts to mitigate the challenges facing the nation’s capital amidst the ongoing insecurity crisis.
