…Set To Open In January 2024

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara has pledged an impartial and unbiased allocation process for stalls at the upcoming Rumuwoji Mile 1 Market, assuring the public of a fair distribution without any political influence.

The governor who gave the assurance during a visit to local markets in Port Harcourt on Thursday, emphasized that the allocation of market stalls would be transparent and equitable, ensuring equal opportunities for all, irrespective of their political affiliations.

Represented by Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria for Rivers State and the South-South zone, Governor Fubara reiterated that the market would be accessible to all residents of the state, irrespective of their political leanings.

“I want to assure everyone that the stalls will be allocated based on necessity rather than personal connections or financial status,” Governor Fubara affirmed.

Expressing gratitude to the traders for their vital role in the state’s economic growth, Governor Fubara particularly acknowledged the contributions of the Igbo community, urging their continued support for his administration’s initiatives aimed at benefiting the populace.

Additionally, Governor Fubara announced that the modernized Rumuwoji Mile 1 Market is set for commissioning in January 2024, equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and infrastructure, including access to running water.

In his remarks, Comrade Dede Chinedu, President of the Reformed Traders Association of Nigeria, extended gratitude to Governor Fubara for his recognition and support of the traders, promising continued collaboration to advance the state’s interests.

The event also featured the induction of market leaders and the distribution of Christmas packages, comprising rice, umbrellas, aprons, hampers, and cash gifts, by the Rivers State Government.
