The Care Across Borders Foundation (CABF), a renowned non-profit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to promoting health and well-being, has announced its upcoming Asthma Awareness Campaign to be held at the Community Secondary School (CSS), Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

The Chairman of the Foundation, Rtn. Jennifer Adasa Chile, in a press release on Wednesday, said the campaign aims to raise awareness about Asthma, a chronic respiratory condition affecting millions of individuals worldwide.

The CAB Founder said that the free Asthma awareness/sensitization mission at the CSS, Oroworukwo is one of series of initiatives and events to support and empower asthma patients, adding that her Foundation has also provided education, resources, and medical assistance to those in need.

She noted that the Asthma sensitization campaign is expected to draw a significant number of student attendees, including individuals who had been diagnosed with Asthma, medical professionals, community leaders, and concerned citizens.

“The event will feature a range of activities designed to educate, engage, and empower participants to manage and overcome the challenges associated with Asthma”, she said, stressing that the erroneous belief or myth which sees Asthma as a death sentence is untrue.

Among the highlights of the campaign will be informative workshops conducted by renowned pulmonologists, allergists, and respiratory therapists. These experts will share their insights on Asthma management, preventive measures, and the latest advancements in treatment options.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized advice to improve their respiratory health.

Rtn. Chile also disclosed that in addition to the workshops, the Care Across Borders Foundation will organize free Asthma screening and diagnostic sessions during the event, adding that participants will have their lung function assessed, enabling early detection of potential Asthma symptoms and providing a better understanding of their respiratory health.

Furthermore, the campaign will include interactive sessions where individuals can engage in group discussions and share their experiences living with Asthma. This platform, according to her, will foster a supportive environment, encouraging participants to connect, find inspiration, and learn from one another.

Rtn. Chile, a renowned philanthropist who is the CEO of Mammoth Marine Services Limited as well as Co-Founder/Executive Director of Variezone Marine Services, believes that by raising awareness and providing essential support, individuals affected by Asthma can live healthier and more fulfilling lives.

The Asthma healing campaign at CSS, Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, is an important step towards achieving this goal and making a positive impact on the local community.

The CABF boss said everyone interested in Asthma education, prevention, and Management have been invited to join them at CSS, Oroworukwo  on Wednesday next week as together, they would strive to create a future where Asthma is better understood, effectively managed, and ultimately conquered.

Asthma is a chronic lung disease affecting people of all ages. It is caused by inflammation and muscle tightening around the airways, which makes it harder to breathe. Symptoms can include coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness. These symptoms can be mild or severe and can come and go over time.

CABF boss also added that organizations who are interested in partnership, collaboration and support is welcome to join her to take this program to other parts of the country and the world at large.
