The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Emeka Nwonye in a bid to ensure cultism and other violent activities are effectively reduced, has redeployed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in Ahoada, Ahoada East and Akinima,Ahoada West LGAs.
We gathered that CP Nwonye deployed the Divisional Police Officer of Bori, SP Bako Angbashim to take charge of Ahoada Police Division and another seasoned crime fighter to Akinima Police Division.
A sources in an interview revealed that the news of the deployment of the seasoned crime fighters to the two divisions in the areas is now a source of concern to the hoodlums as it may not be business as usual for the gang members.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of Akoh Youth Congress, Akoh kingdom, Ahoada East , Hector Chinem has commended the CP Emeka for the deployment of seasoned crime fighters to the Divisions in the area.
Chinem noted that the strategic deployment by the Rivers Police Boss will lead to reduction of crime to zero.
When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed redeployment of the DPOs.
Investigation revealed that the level of insecurity has drastically reduced in Emohua, Ahoada East and West LGAs which are flashponits for cult related killing since the assumption of office of CP Nwonye.
