As the Retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli-led Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) brazes up for the tasks ahead, many well meaning people of the state have expressed appreciation to Governor Nyesom Wike for putting the right caliber of persons into the state electoral body.
While some saw the inauguration of Justice Enebeli’s RSIEC as good parting gift to the state, others lauded the team as square peg in square hole.
For Mr. Brown Isobonye Ebenezer and Senibo Abinye Dandison Brown, the appointment of their Opobo kinsman, Amaopusenibo (Barr) Aaron A. Brown was not only a welcome development, but a dream come true.
The duo, who breezed into the newsroom of National Network shortly after the inauguration of the state electoral umpire in Port Harcourt on Monday, brimmed with smiles as they lauded Gov Wike over Barrister Brown’s appointment.
According to Isobonye, “Words cannot sufficiently express my joy today. Barrister Aaron A. Brown is a man of character, capacity, capability and competence. For me, his appointment is a star pick. Governor Wike has done well and I owe him the gratitude”.
Isobonye, a one-time National President of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku Alumni Association, prayed God to imbue Barrister Brown with the requisite wisdom to creditably discharge his duties as RSIEC member.
“But I’m positive he will deliver, knowing his pedigree. He will be a great asset to the team because he’s got all it takes to do so”, Isobonye enthused.
His companion, Senibo Abinye Dandison Brown expressed his elation philosophically. He described the RSIEC member as one of the brightest brains not only in Opobo Kingdom but in Rivers State at large.
“Governor Wike is known for putting the right people in right places. He has left many legacies and this current RSIEC appointment is yet another legacy he is leaving. We shall continue to celebrate him, even after he leaves office”, he said.
Recall that Governor Nyesom Wike had announced the appointment of Justice Enebeli (Rtd) as Chairman of RSIEC during a dinner organised to mark his retirement on March 31, 2023.
