A Frontline member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Prince Kelvin Ekelechukwu Umejuru says that given available parameters, Sir Sirminalaye Fubara of the PDP will win the governorship election billed for Saturday, March 11, 2023.
He said his confidence was premised on the overwhelming support from all shades of Rivers people at home and the diaspora.
Umejuru who spoke to journalists in Idu Obosiukwu community on Sunday where he voted at the just ended Presidential and National Assembly elections, charged Sim Fubara not to lose sleep as he would win in a landslide victory.
“Sim Fubara will rout his challengers. Rivers people are waiting for Election Day to use their votes to decide once and for all that there is no other party in the state but PDP.
“He is coming to consolidate on the quntum of gains recorded by Governor Nyesom Wike. It would be autopilot because Mr. Quality Projects has laid the foundations for his successor to build on”, he said.
On speculations that the Governorship and State Assembly elections may witness low turnout, Umejuru described such fears as baseless, arguing that Sim Fubara has warmed his way into the hearts of Rivers people who are anxiously waiting to vote for him.
He called on ONELGANS and Rivers people in general to replicate the zeal of last week election by trooping out enmasse to do the needful.
His words,, “If we can troop out in our numbers to elect a President, then we should be more eager to elect our governor. After all, it is said that charity begins at home”.
