In its tireless commitment to promoting good governance in Rivers State, an advocacy body, Leadership Initiative Group (LIG) has unveiled what it called REAP, an acronym for Rivers Empowerment and Advancement Projects With Gov SIM.

According to the group, the concept of REAP is premised on promoting good governance and declaring unalloyed support for the policies and programs of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Under the leadership of Ekpemandu Justice Chizi, the Leadership Initiative Group (LIG) says they are dedicated to promoting good governance and supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s vision for the state.

This development is exciting news for the state, especially considering Governor Fubara’s efforts to raise the bar of governance in his first year in office, despite distractions from detractors.

Addressing journalists shortly after the ceremony held in Port Harcourt last Monday, the State Director of LIG, Ekpemandu Justice Chizi, emphasized that the group had taken the time to cumulatively assess Governor Fobara’s past, present and futuristic, projects.

“Fobara’s administration’s focus on capacity building and human development has created a conducive environment for businesses lto thrive in the state, and with LIG’s support, our governor’s vision for a prosperous and peaceful Rivers State is poised to become a reality”, Ekpemandu said.

He added that LIG’s advocacy efforts will undoubtedly contribute to the state’s growth and development, making Rivers State an attractive destination for investors and citizens alike.

While publicly endorsing Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s leadership style and praising his efforts in making democracy work in Rivers State, Ekpemandu stated that his group’s primary concern is supporting and enhancing good governance.

“Governor Fubara is ensuring that democracy is in action. We identify with his leadership style, administrative acumen, and developmental strides in human capital and infrastructure development, which have empowered and advanced Rivers people. Ekpemandu declared, further describing him as “a deliberate and intentional democrat.”

Emphasizing their non-partisan stance, the LIG boss clarified, “We comprise leaders from all walks of life concerned about good governance. We don’t support any party; we support good governance.”

The LIG state director advised the political class to rally around the present administration, contributing value to enable Rivers people to reap democracy’s benefits.

The group condemned attempts to stop the LGA election scheduled for October 5, 2024, through court action, labeling it “murder against democracy.” and reaffirmed their support for Governor Fubara, stating, “With Governor Fubara in Rivers State, democracy is indeed in action!”.

The occasion which had as its theme. Democracy in Action with Gov Fubara, featured hot praise and dance session and chanting the LIG’s slogan “Sim Fubara, the Governor Wey Sabi.”

In their solidarity messages, a principal member of the group, Dr. Ledibabari Paago lauded the achievements of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in just one year in office and commending him for aligning with the objectives of LIG while

Dr. Paago urged the governor not to be distracted by critics of his administration but to remain focused as opposition is part of leadership.

In the same vein, Pastor Mabel Lucky Osogin expressed delight that LIG’s series of advocacy has yielded positive results looking at the policies and programs of Governor Fubara.
