The Igbo Community in Rivers and Bayelsa States has bestowed a grand honor on Hon. Chief Dr. Samuel Anya, Commissioner for Special Duties in Rivers State, with the 
title of “Ike Mba Ndigbo”.
Meaning ‘Strength of the Igbo People’, this recognition celebrates Dr. Anya’s exceptional leadership and contributions to the community.
A grand reception held in Port Harcourt on Sunday brought together esteemed guests, including His Imperial Majesty Sam Nwokolo, President General of Ndigbo in Rivers and Bayelsa, who crowned Dr. Anya.
Other respected chiefs, Igbo leaders, and dignitaries also attended, acknowledging Dr. Anya’s remarkable achievements and service to Rivers State.
As Commissioner for Special Duties and Leader/Coordinator of Non-indigenes in Rivers State, Dr. Anya has demonstrated remarkable dedication to the community.
His leadership has strengthened the state’s administration, reflecting his expertise as a financial expert.
This prestigious title solidifies Dr. Anya’s position as a champion of the Igbo community and his accomplishments will undoubtedly continue to inspire and uplift the people of Rivers State.
Highlight of the event was the conferment of a merit award on Dr. Anya by the youth wing of Ndigbo Community in Rivers and Bayelsa States.
President of the group, Engr Maurice Ugochukwu Okpara, who led a delegation of the youths to the ceremony, said the Commissioner deserved the award for his exceptional leadership, selfless service, and outstanding contributions to the development of Rivers State and the Ndigbo community.
“It’s wonderful to see leaders like Dr. Samuel Anya being recognized for their tireless efforts in promoting the well-being of their people. The Ndigbo Community in Rivers and Bayelsa States has indeed found a worthy ally in him”, Okpara remarked.
The Igbo youths during the occasion also honoured two eminent personalities namely Mr.. Nchekwube Stanley, MD/CEO of Flash Lounge with a Patron Award, and Dr. Mrs. Constance Amaechi Onyerimma, who bagged a distinguished star Award.
