The Youth Wing of Ndigbo Community in Rivers and Bayelsa States is set to host its first-ever Youth Week 2024, themed “Echi Ka” (Tomorrow is Greater)

A joint statement by the Youths President of Ndigbo Community in Rivers and Bayelsa States, Engr Maurice Ugochukwu Okpara, and Secretary, Justina Ozoemena E, said the event will take place from September 25 to 27 at Azny Place, Sir Louis Drive, Off Sani Abacha Street, GRA 3, Port Harcourt.

The highlight of the event, the statement revealed, will be the conferment of merit awards on six governors, including Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Prof Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra, Alex Otti of Abia, and Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.

In addition to the governors, several individuals will also receive honors, including Dr. Samuel Anya, Eze Engr Samm Nwaokolo, Chief Tony Okechukwu, Apostle Eugene Ogu, and Ufam Engr Prof Muna Stella Ebele Okoye

Furthermore, other notable awardees include the Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon Ehie Edison, Caretaker Chairman of Port Harcourt City local government area, Ezebunwo Ichemati, and his Obio Akpor counterpart, Chijioke Ihunwo and Commissioners Collins Onunwor, Obed Rowland Whyte and Solomon Eke.

The Youth Week 2024 will feature a range of activities, including a football competition on September 25, a quiz and dance competition on September 26, and a pageantry and award night on September 27.

According to the statement, the event aims to promote unity and excellence among Igbo youths and to recognize outstanding contributions to the community.

The public is invited to attend and celebrate with the awardees.
