Idu-Ogba Community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) is abuzz with excitement as the highly anticipated finals of the inaugural HH Unity Cup soccer tournament is set to take place on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

The showdown will witness a thrilling clash between two formidable teams, Ediehiru/Akpa/Urime Family and Igrede Family, as they battle it out for soccer glory.

Ediehiru/Akpa/Urime families which entered the competition as a single team, secured their place in the finals after a hard-fought semifinal 2-1 victory against Umuezeali Family.

Coached by Bright Orukwo, and captained by Noble Okah, Ediehiru showcased exceptional teamwork and skill, leaving spectators in awe of their performance. Their relentless pursuit of victory propelled them to the grand finals.

On the other side of the bracket, Igrede Family, ably coached by Osiagor Chikezie, displayed an outstanding performance in their semifinal match against Osualakata Family, leaving no room for doubt about their superiority on the field, as they delivered an impressive 3-0 victory. Their attacking prowess propelled by skipper Eke Jerry, with a solid defense line, proved to be a winning formula, securing their spot in the finals.

The HH Unity Cup, Idu-Ogba has gained immense popularity among soccer enthusiasts, thanks to the cup donor and sole sponsor, Mr. Chimuenya Umejuru. A coveted giant gold trophy, a symbol of triumph and excellence, awaits the deserving champions.

Mr. Umejuru, the CEO of HH Luxury Hotels and Apartments, Omoku, has also added an extra incentive to the stakes, offering a cash prize of N120,000 to the winners, while the runners-up and third place winner will be rewarded with N80,000 and N40,000 respectively.

The philanthropic youthful entrepreneur has also promised that all the participating families will each receive N30,000 consolation prize.

The event promises to be a grand affair with the presence of the special guest of honor, Prince Isaac Umejuru JP, the Rivers State Commissioner for Urban Development and Physical Planning.

Spectators from far and wide are expected to flock to the Idu-Obosiukwu Community field eagerly anticipating a thrilling display of soccer prowess from both teams.
