Former Presidential candidate for the Labour Party, Peter Obi, expressed deep sorrow on Wednesday following the deaths of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ghali Umar Na’Abba.

Obi highlighted his connections with both leaders, reminiscing about his interactions with Governor Akeredolu during his tenure as President of the Nigerian Bar Association and his discussions with Na’Abba on Nigeria’s challenges.

Expressing his condolences, Obi prayed for the peaceful repose of their souls and urged those in positions of service to uphold integrity and dedication.

“In these moments of grief, I pray for Governor Akeredolu’s eternal peace and offer strength to his family and the people of Ondo State in coping with their losses.

“Similarly, I pray for forgiveness and eternal rest for Ghali Na’Abba, extending my support to his family and the people of Kano State in this trying times.

“The passing of these leaders is a stark reminder of life’s transience, underscoring the importance of unwavering commitment to noble deeds. May God grant solace to all mourners and our nation as we navigate these losses.”, he said.
